HARRISON ELEMENTARY HOSTS RIBBON-CUTTING

Students and staff at Harrison Elementary School, 1032 W. 53rd Street, are hosting a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Monday, April 4th, at 12 noon to celebrate the completion of a $2.6 million renovation project at the school. The project features a new centralized media center and common room, expanded key classrooms and included parking improvements at this heavy traffic location. The project did not add new classrooms, but did expand existing classrooms to accommodate new technology and learning resources for Harrison’s students.

The project was financed by local option sales tax dollars, a program that has funded more than $96 million in improvements, renovations and joint community building projects on Davenport Community Schools campuses during the past five years.

Built in 1953, Harrison Elementary is the second largest elementary in the district with more than 500 students.
